I remember it well...

It was almost a decade ago and I was still a child but I remember it well. Boris Yelstin was on his way out and Bill Clinton was making a farewell movie... Yes it was only eight years ago but I remember it well...

Now that their successors are engaging in farewell talks I have to wonder what does the next four years hold for us all. Putin has his (hand-picked) successor and will be lurking around as prime minister. But what about Bush... yes... what about him.

With four thousand dead servicemen and two wars that have no end in sight, Al-Qaeda still on the run and a hold lot of problem unresolved... what about Bush.

As I say, it was almost a decade ago... They came in and said a lot would have changed with them but sadly nothing did... or perhaps it all did but for the worst...

Any ways... it is all in the past let's look to the futur.

101.4 miles... on my bike...

It's been some time now that I have made it a weekly routine to bike.... Since I had my bike and only after eight ride I have completed 101. 4 mi.

Good grief...

Now then, since I am also an economist I have been collecting valuble data on my rides; so what the data says: well if you are going by my average speed (avsp). I have not been improving much. Actually after a short spike I have hit a static point....

Well looking at my max speed (maxsp) isn't any better....

Gesh... I guess I am really a nerd... Here is the graph of my data:

A few words on Obama

I guess since it is the season to be choosing, I 'll just let every one know I've made my choice... So why Obama, it is simple, he represents many things:

• Something foreignly familiar. Obama reminds Americans that there isn't anything truly American. That ours, is a culture forged through a cacophony of differences brought together for the sole purpose of survival.
• Something positively naive. Obama has been accuse of being naive in regards to his foreign policy approaches. Well then... I believe it to be no more naive to engage one's opponent through negotiation than through brute force. Just humor me a bit: was it not naive to believe that the Iraqis would greet us as heroes with laurels and candlesticks of peace and love.
  
• Something gallantly combative. Politics has this way of taking the best of us all and forfeiting it to the worst. Yet, here we have someone who while playing a dirty game is still able to hole sway with out having to get in the mud pool of his opponent. His gallantry has remained his greatest panache, facing each criticism with keen and thoughtfulness.
• Finally, Something rejuvenating. If Barak looses, America looses. He has brought to the American presidential electoral process something we have not seen since the days of JFK, "General interest".
